Liquid Roots Brewing Project to start serving own brews
LENOIR – The owners of the Liquid Roots Brewing Project, after waiting patiently through the government shutdown to receive the proper licenses and permits, have begun brewing their own beer and will be serving it at their Grand Opening this Saturday and Sunday, March 30 and 31. It is located at 1048 Harper Ave. NW.
Katie Brummett, who handles marketing for the family owned business, shared, “It will be a day of fun for all. We open at 2:00 and will be doing our ribbon cutting at 3:00.” She added, “We will make sure everyone has a beer, then take a short break from pouring so we can all be part of the ribbon cutting ceremony.”
Also on Saturday, a face painter for children will be there from 2:30 to 4:30. Musicians include Dwight McGlynn of Trouvère, who starts at 5:00, and The Benson – which hosts the brewery’s Wednesday Open Mic Night – takes the stage at 8:00. Sunday, Daniel Queen plays from 2 to 5.
There will also be food trucks. On Saturday, A Taste of Culture and Frank & Charlie’s Good Eats will be serving from 2 to 9. Also, Bomb Ass Bakery will be serving from 2 to 8 or while supplies last. On Sunday, Hickory on a Roll will be there from 12 to 6.
