Next Arts Council Exhibit to Open Oct. 6

‘Wood You Be Still?!’ features Durham photographer and local artists

LENOIR – The Caldwell Arts Council is pleased to announce the art exhibit “Wood You Be Still?!” featuring artwork by Caldwell County’s own Brush & Palette Club, wood turnings by retired Dr. Charles Scheil of Lenoir, and still life photography by Jim Lee of Durham.

A meet-the-artists reception will be held Oct. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m., hosted by members of the Brush & Palette Club. The exhibit will continue through November 11.

About the Artists

The Brush & Palette Club of Lenoir currently has about twenty-five exhibiting artists, including painters, sculptors and potters. Their artwork will be displayed on the main floor along with wood-turnings by retired Dr. Charles Scheil, also of Lenoir.

Jim Lee of Durham will display his still life photography in our upstairs gallery. Lee’s education history includes the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, North Carolina State University, and the Penland School of Crafts.

About the Caldwell Arts Council:

The Caldwell Arts Council’s mission is to establish and maintain an awareness and appreciation of cultural arts in Caldwell County, to encourage participation in art events, and to offer various educational opportunities and administrative services in support of artists, arts agencies, and audiences.  Located at 601 College Ave SW in Lenoir, operating hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10a.m. – 2 p.m.
